East Beach is a public-private initiative that includes the City of Norfolk, the Norfolk Redevelopment & Housing Authority, and East Beach Company, LLC.

East Beach Company, LLC is the the development entity formed by East Beach Renaissance, LLC and Leyland Norfolk Alliance, LLC.

The local East Beach Company team is comprised of development and design professionals who have played significant roles in the creation and revitalization of a consortium of neighborhoods in Hampton Roads. Each member brings extensive experience in community planning, development, construction, sales, marketing and management. The principals include D.B. xBartx Frye, Jr. of Frye Properties and co-manager of East Beach Company, LLC; Lawrence J. Goldrich of Larrymore Organization, Alfred Abiouness, president of the engineering firm Abiouness, Cross and Bradshaw, Inc.; and John Crouse and Burrell Saunders with CMSS Architects.

Leyland Norfolk Alliance, LLC is a sister company of Leyland Alliance, LLC of New York. Leyland is a developer and builder of traditional neighborhoods along the East Coast. Leylandxs principals have worked together for more than 20 years and specialize in the development of innovative residential and commercial projects encompassing new construction, renovation, and adaptive re-use. Principals include Steve J. Maun, Louis G. Marquet, and Howard Kaufman, East Beach Company, LLC co-manager.

Frye Properties

Frye Properties, formed in 1978, is a residential real estate company in the Southeast. In addition to its leadership role in East Beach, Frye Properties has recently completed a $20 million reconstruction of the 434-unit Mariners Watch complex near the Ocean View Golf Course in Norfolk. Mr. Frye’s earlier public development experience included the rebirth of the Olde Towne Historic Neighborhood, on the downtown waterfront in Portsmouth, Virginia.

Larrymore Organization

Larrymore Organization has a long history of residential real estate developments in Hampton Roads, North Carolina and other nationally diversified locations. The company was founded by Lawrence J. Goldrich, a past president of the Tidewater Builder’s Association and a lifetime member of the National Association of Home Builders Board of Directors.

Abiouness, Cross and Bradshaw, Inc. is a structural engineering form established in 1963. The company has been involved in some of the most significant development projects in the region including 150 W. Main Street in downtown Norfolk, Town Center in Virginia Beach and Westminster Canterbury on the Chesapeake Bay.

CMSS Architects was founded in 1982 and has grown to become a leading design firm with local, national and international clients. The firm has been involved in master planning and design for premier developments including Town Center in Virginia Beach, City Center at Oyster Point in Newport News and Old Town Village at Fairfax.
